MEET THE TEAM

Cafe Espresso puts a strong emphasis on
work / life balance and is very family orientated. Our staff have become our big
extended family and also Aunties to our
young daughter Matilda. When there is a job to be done, we all help pitch in and work together.

Living in Cambodia we have learnt to be adaptable and have versatile skill sets, as life in the Kingdom of Wonder doesn't always go to plan, but sometimes that's a good thing.

THE CHEF | THE BARISTA
& THE BOSS

Kiara & Angus moved to Cambodia in 2011 with dreams of house boats, lazy afternoons and long moto rides. Inspiration changes theese kind of dreams. Within a week we started missing good coffee and brunch: two things Australia does right . With no experience but plenty of passion 'Espresso' was opened on 11/11/11 and through trial and error; blood sweat and tears we have strived to make the cafe what it is today. Oh yeah......... and Matilda is the Boss.
OUR TEAM
Without our support team, Espresso would never have made it to where we are today. Currently we have strong team of young Khmer who all came to work with us with no prior experience and little to no english skills.
With a fresh slate and a desire to learn the trade they are given the opportunity to experiment, grow and move up the chain.
SREY OUN: 'THE EGGSPERT'
Srey Oun has been with us from early 2012 and is like family. Oun is our resident perfectionist - with no prior experience in the kitchen, show her once and she will nail a dish identically everytime.

Very quick to learn, Oun has mastered
techniques that trained chefs never grasp.
She poaches an egg like a BOSS and her latte art is excelling at a pace that scares us.

BONG NY: 'THE MUM'
Ny also joined the team in 2012 and is in charge of making sure everything runs. she is the mum that gets you up in the morning and finds your bag whilst making your breakfast. She is our in house butcher and our expert on local ingreients and recipes. Along with being an exceptional cook she is also really really good people.
